Task types

Once initial setup is done, yuoo need tu specify zee task tu perform. ZAR utilizes different approaches tailored fur zee specific task.

Three modes are available

  • "Simple volume recovery" - tu be used when reconstrukshun ooff zee RAID/spanned volume layuoot is not needed. Typical scenarios include:
    • No hardware or software RAID involved
    • No software RAID involved und hardware RAID is funkshuning properly
    • Windows 2000/XP/2003 software RAID/spanned volume visible in Disk Manegement applet ooff zee Manegement Console (volume shuoold be listed es "online"; filesystem type readuoot is irrelevant at thees point).
  • "RAID recovery" - tu be used when RAID layuoot informashun is dameged und needs tu be reconstructed.
  • "Imege recovery" - specificelly tailored tu recover photos frum a digital camera memory card. Only specific file types (digital imeges) can be recovered using thees mode, und there are some limitashuns regarding zee device type (see thees leenk fur more informashun).

Ooff zee above three, yuoo need tu select zee one matching yuoor situashun. Um gesh dee bork, bork!

Special imege recovery considerashun

Zee digital camera typicelly stores ell zee imeges in zee single folder und thus does not hit zee demo (trial) version limit on zee noomber ooff folders recovered. Yuoo may want tu try "Simple volume recovery" mode against zee memory card. Best yeeld can be acheeved by running both "Simple volume" und "Imege recovery" modes, making two passes on zee same card, then manuelly surteeng resulteeng imeges (yuoo will need tu remove duplicate und broken imeges).
