Hello,

I had to do a reformat of my hard drive due to Windows kept having a logon on failure and I could not log on. So Dell Support led me through a process that took my computer back to Dell Factory settings. My notebook is only a month old and I did not really have any data on it so I was fine with it. After I had already completed the process I remember my sister had used my computer under her logon for work, I did not know that she had saved several important digitial audio files from her PDA on the computer. Is there any way to recover these files and if so which tool is right?

Thanks in advance for any help !

Lou

The procedure to try is the same as for unformat, http://www.z-a-recovery.com/unformat-tutorial.htm

Note that there are two problems:

Overall, given the problem, there is a little chance to recover something of value.
You need to use a second hard disk. Get an USB hard disk, or USB flash (pendrive), install ZAR there (NOT onto your C: drive), run from there, and if you recover files, make sure the recovered files go onto that flash drive as well.
