Selecting memory card

I am brand new to image recovery -- accidentally formatted a camera's memory card and lost some important photos. I've tried ZAR to (hopefully) recover the images, but can't get it to recognize the memory card reader in my HP Officejet 6310. It only gives two selection options, and neither of those is the memory card...both try to recover images from my hard drive. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Forgive my interruption, but I believe you need to put your card into a card reader, not your printer. The card reader usually connects via usb directly to your computer.

JudyWhite, if you have a different card reader, then try it. Also, try with another computer, if possible.
