I have since long used ZAR Recovery and it had been working like a charm for the purpose I use it. What I also do much is backing up mail from my small number of clients, and I have yet to find a tool that does it all. Will Zmail help me with this:
- I would like to have a utility that can make backups from all the known e-mail programs (Windows Mail, Outlook Express, Office Outlook, Thunderbird Mail etc).
- The utility should recognise if there's is several mail profiles used. I.e. if there are 2 users on the computer then it should make 2 diffrent backups.
- It should be able to backup mails/messages as well as contacts/address books and save them in file formats that are ready to be imported.
- Normaly one of my clients comes in with a crashed Windows computer and they want to reinstall it but they need the mail and contacts backup from i.e. Windows Mail. In that case we remove the hard drive and back up everthing with ZAR Recovery. From that backup I would need a program that extracts all their mail and contacts. Usually the mail isnt a problem to backup manually, but the contacts are since they are not contained in any specific database file. With Zmail I would like to be able to recover all their mail and contacts so I can import the backup in their mail program when we have installed a new fresh windows for them.
Is this possible to do with Zmail. If not then would it be possible to incorporate these funtions in Zmail?
