Recovery for Thumbdrive

Can someone advise me if ZAR is able to retrieve data from an unaccessible thumbdrive ?

The problem is, something had been accidentally deleted and the system will always prompt me to reformat the thumbdrive whenever i insert it into the USB port.

I've installed the program and tried using it. However, it could only recover four folders and some files within those. I have more than that. Any recommendation for another software that does a more thorough recovery ?
