:confused:Help- this is my first time attempting to recover ditigal images. When I run ZAR 8.2 zero assumtion and follow directions on screen it freezes when I get to Volume analysis I wait and don't see progress by way of led bars in the box. I assuming it;s freezing up? I have Olympus 765 camera and am using cable directly to my laptop.

Any suggestions?

If you do not see progress bar moving, and the entire disk map stays yellow ("not scanned yet"), then it freezes when reading the card.

I suggest that you use a card reader device (rather than a camera connection). This takes camera and its firmware out of the equation..

I had the same problem as Jesse Juarez (can't get past volume analysis). I tried the steps you recommend (simple ... ) and the program never prompted me for the type of camera. I simply ended up have the same problem as before. Fortunately I have a sample of the files (jpeg) - I was able to copy the files from the XD picture card using a card reader. My camera is not able to read the card.

Can you please check the attached file.

For Jesse's information. I was informed that the "H" series XD picture cards have been known to fail.

Thanks,
Marco

Huh. I still do not see the attachment. It may be just too large for a forum. Could you please email the sample to development@z-a-recovery.com?

No luck.

I've received the sample photo and run a usual verification procedure.
Copied the image to the test card several times and ZAR recovers all the copies fine. This eliminates the possibility of the file detection problem. Hence, I conclude there are no repairable photos on the card. Since the recovery is pretty straightforward, the probability of missing something is quite low.
