physical damage?

Hi

Im trying to recover over a quick format of a (possibly) physically damaged drive. (250gb WD sata.)

i run zar, and it works well for a few minutes, detecting green and blues at about 45mbps, then almost through the first line, i hear the drive power off and on, and it proceeds to fail each sector, at a crawling rate of 0.0mbps- 0.2mbps. i had left it on a full day, and was somewhere in the fourth line of straight red detections.

any tips or suggestins, or firther questions at all? thanks

Given the description I'd say it is beyond the software repair.
If the drive just drops out and produces a continous stream of a bad blocks, sometimes forced power cycle "on the fly" will help, but this is not very likely with WDs.

So, I'd say this outside our capabilites.
