I took one of the drives out and put it in another just like it server. I can see the drive but I cannot see the partition . the drive was raid 1. can I retrieve the data of the second partition of that drive??

As I understood, you took a "half-mirror" of a RAID 1 and installed it into another machine, and there were no other RAID involved.

However, you did not specify if the condition of the partition table can be ascertained, or if there was a dynamic volume. A screenshot of a Disk Management applet in Computer Management would be helpful.

In any case, the most generic (albeit slow) procedure is outlined here

(for a multiple logical drives). It should work in your case.
