Did you try this procedure - http://www.z-a-recovery.com/unformat-tutorial.htm
If yes, and it fails, that what is the exact error message?

i followed steps as per tutorial. but at step 3 when i click next i do not get to step 4 because the drive has 0 capacity and i am supposed to change my advanced settings disk access using logical drive, when i do i cannot see my drive at all.
thanks

The only do-it-yourself option remaining is to disassemble the enclosure and attach the drive directly to the appropriate motherboard port (bypassing the USB-to-ATA bridge). Please remember that doing so voids the warranty on the device.

When you have a drive letter visible, if you try to analyze it regardless of the "fault" indication, what is the error message?
Quick format, any sort of the format, is generally bad. Do not do it.
