Hello. I´ve got two AES encrypted HDDs and I just reinstalled my Windows Xp on one of them. While doing this I had to format my C disc and so i did but suddenly without any confirmation or anything windows also decided to quickformat my D disk with all my documents, photos and music. I suppose they programed it to format all disks which are identified as "unknown" or what they call it. Is there any possible way to save the encrypted data on the D disk?

Unlike a ordinary disk i can´t just backup all the important files to a folder, i have to recreate every single little bit of data on the entire drive.

I´m a bit angry right now so if i missed any vital information, please say.

Cheers

Supposedly you used TrueCrypt to encrypt the entire D: partition (as opposed to a drive based on a container file).

If TrueCrypt refuses to mount the volume, then there is nothing ZAR can do for you. ZAR looks for a filesystem data, which is encrypted beyond all recognition by TrueCrypt. For ZAR to work, we need the TrueCrypt driver to first recognize the volume and decrypt whatever data remains on it. ZAR can then search within this data as if it was a "normal" volume.

Probably you need to contact TrueCrypt folks to see if they can suggest something?
