I just purchased ZAR and have yet to install it. My desktop computer is completely functional, but a "disk clean-up" program I was using deleted many thousands of files that should not have been deleted! I have not used the computer since this happened and want to recover the deleted files. Do I "install" ZAR on the computer, or do I "run" it from the zip drive that contains the .exe setup file? If I install, is ZAR going to install in a way that does not prevent me from recovering deleted files on the hard drive?

You install ZAR form the zip drive and ONTO that zip drive. Also, the recovered files should also be placed onto that same zip drive. Because of this kind of restriction, I typically suggest that (if practical), you get the hard disk out of your computer and attach as a slave to some other computer. Then, install ZAR and place recovered files onto that other computer's disk.
