I am trying to revover files from an iomega network HD. Windows was telling me I needed to format the drive. I downloaded and tried your software but early in the scan I get an error stating unsupported filesystem type and unable to continue. Can I force ZAR to continue through the advance settings? However, I am not sure what filesystem type the iomega was using. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

In "Advanced Settings", under "Overrides", there is a "force filesystem type" setting.
However, without the exact model name of the device it is difficult to tell what the filesystem type should be.

It is iomega desk network hard drive 360gb ethernet/usb2.0. If I pick the wrong filesystem type and run the software will that cause more problems?

Also, are there any other options at this point other than overiding and forcing the filesystem?

No. If you pick wrong filesystem type, ZAR fails during the run, and that's all. ZAR does not modify the source drive in any way. So, if it fails, you can still try again (unlimited number of times), or try different software.
One exception: if the drive is physically damaged, you should avoid excessive runs, because the drive may wear out and die before the recovery is complete.

However I did a little research and it indicates the filesystem on the drive is most likely something Linux-based. Hence, there is a little chance ZAR will work in your case.

If it is linux based is there another software you recommend?

I suggest that you first install some Linux distribution, then attach the drive to it, to see if maybe it can mount and read the drive out of the box.
