I used the trial version, but now why am I still limited to 4 folders when I entered a SN and unlock code?

You need to restart ZAR after you entered the S/N and unlock code.

If ZAR still reverts to trial mode (4 folders max), please send me a private message stating your order reference number, or ZAR serial number you use, or your full name you used when ordering (whichever of those is available).

I dont understand it. It works on my friends computer. He said it would recover my pictures from my hard drive that wont start

Must have been some sort of software incompatibility, then. Either you were running it with less than administrative permissions (not likely), or there is some sort of conflicting software.

OK, I will disable my security software and see what happens. I do have admin rights on the PC

After you restart ZAR, do you need to re-run the application to seach for the files on the HD, or does it remember the harddrive structure and you can just now select the folders you want to recover?

If you use "Save" function in a file and folder tree, you can then try to load the data and avoid rescan. However, you need exactly the same disk configuration in order for a loading to be successful.

Typically, I'd plan to run the scan again.
