THis message comes up constantly. Chkdsk does not repair it.
I have checked the HD with the manufacturers test and with a couple of other disk utilities and it all checks ok.

I have restored the partition with my Acronis backup but it made no difference.

One utility showed that the $MFT and $MFT mirror are a match.

Can ZAR fix the corrupt file issue? (tried to do a Search here on $MFT but was too short).

Thanks
Muzz

ZAR does not "fix" disk issues.

You can use it to try to extract the data from the disk, and copy the data onto another, well-working disk. When this is done, you have to format the originally damaged volume.

Whether or not this will be successful, depends on the exact damage to the data. You can use a evaluation version to try it and see if it detects the files on the volume.
