Hello from Germany,

after the info on my digicamīs monitor "Kartenfehler" (means "card error")
i have tried to recover files with ZAR from my Canon A700 SD-Card (2GB) and got this:

http://s12.directupload.net/images/091015/temp/9tggw6rt.jpg (http://s12.directupload.net/file/d/1948/9tggw6rt_jpg.htm)

The most files (only 23 of formerly over 200 pictures and a few avis) are unusual big sized for pictures.

Wenn i try to open it with "IrfanView" (but other proggis do the same), i get this:

http://s4.directupload.net/images/091015/temp/alt359hv.jpg (http://s4.directupload.net/file/d/1948/alt359hv_jpg.htm)

Can you tell me where the mistake is?
Is there any chance to get my pictures back?

Thanks and sorry for my bad english

regards Gert

Yesterday i have scanned the corrupt card with "SanDisk RecuePro 3.0".

Iīve got at the end the same 23 Files in the same size.
By pure chance? I donīt think so.
I think, somewhere in these files are my pictures.

Any idea what to do furthermore?

Gert

If you are running "Image recovery mode", and only got N files, this means there only were N JPEG (or whatever format) headers. JPEG cannot be opened without a valid header, hence nothing else can be recovered. You get these files large because image recovery mode cannot always tell reliably where the file ends, so whatever garbage is following the file data get included into the file.

You can try "Recover simple volume" mode, but it is not likely to produce any more valid pictures. It is possible to get more files, but additional files are not likely to be readable.

Unfortunately, looks like the data is just not there.
