I just used the save file when I went to use it I got this error
unable to match the device, original id 0102. Then I press ok and I get this.. An error haas accured and it is not possible to continue execution the program will now terminate. The error message was last observed error code 0.
I had to save file cuss I needed to get a disk to put it on but now it wont even open the file what to do next?:(
I added sp1 and sp3 cuss it wouldn't read my 5oo gig and when I zar in after it opens missing some of the graphics but then comes threw kinda weird not sure why.
Ok now I tried the files it saved and it comes up showing the dots and all and I guess it is accessing it again. Not sure what is going on here.

There are two types of save file:
1. The one you manually save at the end of the scan. This is a complete save file, holding a rebuilt directory tree, file names and locations. To load this, you should give ZAR the disk configuration exactly matching the configuration at the time of save. If you add/remove the disk, ZAR would most likely refuse the file.
2. The automatically saved file, which only contains raw (not yet processed) scan data. It does not require the exact match of the disk configuration. However, if you load it, most of the time ZAR is able to find a matching disk in a new configuration and reuse the raw scan data. This typically saves about 70% analysis time.
So you probably loaded type 2 save file and it worked.

Thanks for your help this gives me a better understanding I was wondering thou when you save doing no 1 do you have to check them I wasn't sure about this? Any how I went to check so finally when it was seeing the directory I tried to move them to a drive with no luck in being able to view any of my pictures..So I am getting windows 7 and go step by step not saving this time and hope I will have better luck XP don't se more than 128 gigs having to reboot and install service pack not sure if this has something to do with this.
Any how should be doing this soon. I also unplugged it from the drive I think as it was formatting would this be a problem? I have not written to the drive at all since this happen. Thanks for your response. I will let ya know what happens when I re do it with windows 7 cross my fingers. lol

If you do not see more than 128 GB, you need either a registry tweak or at least Service Pack 1 applied (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/303013 for more details). So if ZAR can only see part of the disk (about 25% of it actually), no wonder nothing good was recovered. I'm actually suriprised that a directory tree came out good.
