I have a lot of seemingly good progress at 15 hours. But after 2 hours it seems stuck at ""Detecting Volume Parameters - Loading Data (1 of 2)"

Drive is making all kinds of activity sounds that seem like normal healthy reading sounds (not clciking). Its not connected directlly to motherboard, its connected via a thermaltake drive adapter via USB. Drive itself after 15 hours is warm to the touch.

Never seen this to take more than a couple of minutes.
What are the filesystem type and the volume size? Also, maybe the volume is known to contain unusually large number of files, like several millions?

Here is what mine looks like. I'm running Windows 7, the only PC I have that will take the 200gig drive using an IDE to USB Adapter. Should I cancel this, or should I let it run over the weekend to see what happens. Special note is that i've got a fan blowing right at this hard drive, which, by the way, seems to be running fine without any type of noises.

I suggest that you leave it and see what gives.
