Doc & XLS recover fails

Hi everyone,

i've tryed to recover many file types, for all pics formats seems goes well
but when i've tried with msoffice file types it fails hence they're targeted as green

ZAR saves the files in the right place, can open them
but content is off, they're unusable

notice that's not a matter of msoffice version

Windows XP
External USB HD Trekstor

any help will be appreciated

1. What kind of a problem with a drive?
2. What is the filesystem type - FAT or NTFS?
3. The image files were written onto the disk long ago and not modified since, the office documents were recently modified, - is that true?

Tried to save same files on NTFS partition against FAT
and now i can use them
