Unsupported filesystem type

Ran demo version and disk drive was found, went to point that it showed file structure on drive and was able to select files to recover.

With that I quit, purchased a license and loaded 8.4 (demo was 8.3). now I get
Severe error
UNABLE TO CONTINUE:
Unsupportded filesystem type
Unable to continue processing, program will now terminate
Not a bug - data is probably beyond repair, or something is misconfigured.

1. Is it possible that you just reinstall 8.3 and feed the key to it? Keys are downgrade-compatible till 7.9 or so, hence the key should work.
2. What type of the filesystem was actually on the volume?
3. What happens if you just retry the scan with 8.4, just to make sure there is no accidental misconfiguration?
