Can't work this download

I have several pictures on my Olympus C-740 camera with an XD picture card of my beloved dog that I just had to put to sleep. I'm going nuts because I can't find them and my camera is telling me I have to format the card, but if I do that it will erase everything. I tried the download, but I can't seem to get any response. It's like it locks up. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Huh, I don't think I understood you well.

Download, http://www.z-a-recovery.com/zar83setup.exe - I've just checked it and I downloaded the file just fine, and it installed and run OK. That might have been some transient connection problem, either our or your side?

Download aside, please refer to http://www.z-a-recovery.com/demo-ir.htm. Could you please describe what the problem is referencing that set of directions, like "in step X expect to get Y actually got Z".

Once I get to the VOLUMN ANALYSIS IN PROGRESS, it just won't do anything, it won't even let me shut it down, I have to CTRL.ALT.DELETE to get out of it. I've tried putting my digital image card in the camera with a ISP cord and I've tried using a XD card reading device. HELP:(

In case both camera and card reader produce the same result, I'd suggest the card is not readable. Once ZAR shows "volume analysis in progress" it then starts reading the card. If there is no visible progress, the most likey reason is the read request just stalls and no access to the card is possible. This sort of thing is beyond our capability to recover.
