Have an NTFS volume that is currently showing as RAW filestructure and is inacessible (error message "volume is not Formatted"). This is on a SAN that is being administered by Veritas Enterprise administrator. We can still see the Drive letter and the volume discs. Will ZAR help us recover the backup MBR ? or any other way to recover the lost NTFS filestructure ?

If you still have a drive letter, and the drive capacity readout is still correct, try this:

Make sure you have enough space to hold the entire contents of the SAN system.
Download/install/run ZAR.
On the first screen, click "Advanced Configuration".
In there, in "Disks and partitions tab" change "Disk access using physical devices" to "Disk access using logical drives".
Click OK to close configuration window.
Refer to this step-by-step guide (http://www.z-a-recovery.com/unformat-tutorial.htm) for the rest of the process. The procedure is essentially the same for RAW filesystem and for the formatted volume.
