I was just wondering if it will be worth me buying ZAR v8 in the hope of recovering data from the following scenario:

I have 120gig HD, which had 3 partions, 1:WinXP64 2:Data 3:Applications

I had created a ghost of the WinXP back in 2006.

My WinXP64 was beggining to run very slow recently as it does after afew years, so I thought why not restore it from the ghost I made earlier.

On doing the above I made a mistake, I for got that when I made the original ghost, I did not have the 3 partitons, so I ended up writing a single WinXP64 partition which takes up the whole 120gig HD.
Now I thought all was lost (how can my data still be recoverable I thought?)

but on running the trial version of ZAR, it seems like it is able to see atleast some of the data that I seem to have lost, it can reconise the actual files and folders aswell.

but for some reason I am unable to recover the 4 folders that the trial should allow me to recover? I can not put ticks in the side of the files even the the once with green icons.

I am still tempted to buy the full product, could you give some assurance that I will be able to copy atleast some of the data that it says it can see in the scan?

Please Help!

If there were originally three partitions, then you should try along this partition recovery (http://www.z-a-recovery.com/partition-recovery-tutorial.htm) tutorial, repeating it once for each volume. ZAR will not provide any useable output if you try to recover several volumes in one pass.

As far as copy problem is concerned, I can't figure it out without more detailed description. Description of what happens, with the error messages, if any, or whatever you think is applicable.

Cheers, Im trying this out right now.

Really have to rate you guys for your helpfulness, I mean what other support guys will answer queries before some ones bought thier product. AS for the product, I have tried commercial software like Acronis Disk Director, which was of no use at all.

I think the triel is great, if I can get back 4 folders then its enough of proof that the program can get data and its worth paying for.

Will let you know if i was success at getting any data back.

Many Thanks
