I am running XP Home with NTFS simple volume ... The first time I ran ZAR as a trial version I managed to find the data I needed under the original file structure or directory .. ie c:/program files/etc .. etc.. . I even managed to recover one file as a test run (since there is a limit of 4 files) I have since bought ZAR 8.2 and am registered but a repeat search does not show the original file structure (ie no files and no directories) and I cannot find the files in the maze of retireved files .. I have tried searching current and deleted files and cannot reporduce the file structure found on the first two searches I did  ... Oh I should add my troubles started after I reinstalled my operating system and had to format my harddrive ... after I thought I had backedup ALL my important files !!! ( which I did not )
I believe I originally scanned by the default setting for current and deleted files but I have tired all other options as well .. ie scan for deleted files only .. no luck .. still not getting any directory information as before
Hoping you can help

That would be strange because the scan/analysis engine is the same between trial and full variations of ZAR. I.e. up to the point where tree is displayed, trial and full versions should behave exactly the same.
1. Is it possible that something was written onto the volume between runs?
2. If the disk configuration was not changed since the first run (i.e. no disks added or removed), try loading several of the earliest available save files. To do it, on the first screen click "Open save file", try opening the earliest and second earliest files from
C:\Program Files\ZAR\Autosave
The autosave files are named after the date and time of the run, so identifying these should be easy.

Thanks Alex,
you are right .. there was a difference between my initial scans and the subsequent ones ... I was in two different places and hence attached to two different wireless network ... the one at home which I tried after I registered has a netgear network storage device which uses some propriety operating system which must map over the MS operating system .... All returned to normal when I detached my computer from the network ....
In any case most of the files I managed to find were corrupted ... I don't suppose there is anything I can do now .. is there ???

Yeah. There is nothing we can do in terms of adjustments if the run completes reasonably successfully. Since it did not work in the end, I've just initiated a refund on your order. The refund typically completes in about 24 hours. Sorry it did not work out.

Wow, I did not expect a refund but I value your integrity ... I am sure I will be needing and using your services in the future and I will be letting everyone know about it ..
Thanks
