Question How to select the SD card

Hi

I'm running Windows 7 and have an 8 gig SDHC card that I want to recover a video file from. I inserted the card in my PCs card reader slot and it shows up as Drive F:.

I'm using ZAR 9.1. Where in ZAR can I choose drive F:?

I ask because I've clicked the Image Recovery button and it starts scanning away for quite awhile. Lengthy scanning is fine, but I want to make sure it's not wasting my time scanning drive C: when I want it to scan drive F:.

Thanks in advance,

Sonya

I just bought ZAR 9.1, used it to recover from an SDHC card. Clicked on the big Data Recovery button, saw the following drives listed: C, D, F. Chose F. That's all there is to it. I don't know, maybe it works differently if you're using Image Recovery?

I'll try the Data Recovery button.

But yeah, when I click Image Recovery (which is the one they recommend for restoring videos), it just starts scanning with no drive letter prompt. I assume it's scanning my C: drive since there was no dialogue to tell it otherwise.

Thanks,

Sonya

Update: Clicking Data Recovery on the demo version also just starts scanning with no drive letter prompt.

*sigh* I guess I'll have to wait hours for it to scan a functional drive before (or if) I can tell it to scan my F: drive.

Should not be so.

refer to this URL, see Step 2.
http://www.z-a-recovery.com/unformat-tutorial.htm

If your card is not listed there, back off to the first screen, and in there click "Advanced configuration".

In there, under "Disks and partitions" mark "Use logical drives", click OK to close config and then click "Data recovery". See if your F: drive appears then.
