disk formatted with unsuccessful attempts of loading windows

Hi all,
I am completely new to this , so please forgive me if i ask some stupid questions. But I am desperately in need of help .

I want to recover my school notes and diagrams , also some of my pics and software installations which were stored on a disk and accidentallly formatted.

A brief series of events -
My system started to reboot automatically some weeks back.
Last week, system stopped completely (after BIOS).
my hardware enginner tried to install windows
He formatted the disk (without informing me)
He tried to install windows almost 5-6 times but could not, he told me there is some problem with RAM or the processor .
I Now have the disk , which is formatted and which is not installed with windows completely. I checked it on my friends PC but cannot see anything

can ZAR recover data from disk which is formatted and installed with windows (Unsuccessfully)

I lost all my data please guide me
