Default ZAR stuck trying to retrieve pics from D580

Trying to retrieve images from my Olympus D580 connected via USB. The camera was dropped, but is working fine. However, I am prompted to reformat the card (or shut camera). When I start ZAR on my XP Home Edition 2002 SP 1, the camera is recognized - it's on the list of devices to be scanned, however when I click next nothing happens - (0%CPU 0 MB/sec). Am I doing it right?

Sounds like you need to get a card out of the camera and use a card reader device to read it. There are quite a few camera models which do not provide proper read access to the card inside the camera. Although it is uncommon to see the camera detected but refusing to read the data, I still think the card reader will work.
