Smile mov files are unrecognised

I downoloaded your program today and used it to recover .jpg files and .mov files from a recently bought olympus M1gb xd card (which I used with my olympus mju 500). I was able to recover the files however all of the .mov files appear to be corrupt and unable to be viewed by the .mov standard viewing software.

// I have emailed you the logfile. what can you suggst?:

Did you try "Recover simple volume" mode instead of "Recover digital images"? If yes, what are the results? if no, please try. You are able to do it with the trial version (i.e. no payment required).

As a simple volume the files were recovered. Thank you for the use of your product.

Could you please email the sample of the recovered good movie to development@z-a-recovery.com? I'd like to see if we maybe missed something about MOV files. Thanks in advance.

This seems very similar to the problem I'm having. I recovered a number of JPGs successfully but the MOV files are either about the right size but get "Error -2048: the file is not a movie file" when I try to play them in QT, or they are about 10KB and have no image/sound but QT does load and try to play them.

I have downloaded and tried 8.3RC3 but it's the same (BTW should I have uninstalled 8.3 before installing the RC3 version?) Simple mode does not seem to work - it found 1538B 3/0/1 files (validation found 0 valid and 1 damaged file of 3 checked; the 3 files are a .lnk and two .DSC files)

As usual, I need a sample of the recovered (bad) file as it came out.
Also, it would be nice to have a short sample of a known-good movie shot by the same camera with the same settings.

I emailed the files as requested yesterday morning. I'm guessing that the files were fragmented on the card, and have not been reassembled correctly. Any idea how long it will take to see if they are recoverable? If you need more of the files, let me know.

Received the files. If the files are fragmented, image recovery mode will not handle that. "Recover simple volume" mode may do it but it is not designed for such a small number of files. We still investigating the possible bug, ETA approx. 24 hours from now.

I tried the new version. It recovered one less MOV file (43 vs. 44), but sadly, in all other respects the files recovered seem exactly the same - they either open and play but have no images or sound (apart from white noise), or they get the error -2048 (not recognised by QuickTime)
