Basically i accidentlly deleted some pictures and videos which i took from my holiday this summer. I didn't realise it until i emptied the recycle bin, i usually do back-ups, but in this case i didn't have one for my pictures and videos. I want to ask, would ZAR recover my pictures (JPEG) and videos (AVI.)? I'm at work now, so i can't really try it until i get home. The video files are large (up to 500 MB some) and it's been about 3 days now since i've accidentally deleted them. I took the pictures from my camera (SD card) and saved them on my laptop hard drive, but now i have no copy of them. Any help is welcomed
Thanks in advance... |

Also should i recover from my hard drive (80 GIG) or my SD card (1 GIG)? It's been 8 weeks since i deleted those lost files from the SD card.

Everything that was deleted and then overwritten (because the storage space was requested for some other file, for some system activity, for any other reason) is lost forever.
It is extremely unlikely that something as big as 500MB survives if you continue to use the system for three days. For a memory card, nothing will be recoverable if you have filled the card at capacity at least once since you deleted the original files from it. So I'm not really sure it is even worth trying. If you decide to try, remember to have another hard disk at hand, install Windows onto that other disk, and run recovery from there (or just pull the disk out of your system and slave it to some other machine). This eliminates the chance of overwriting the data if it is still there. If you decide to give it a shot, try both hard disk and SD card. Refer here for a reference how to recover data from the HD, and this link describes how to recover memory card.
