Arrow thunderbir_UNIX_file_SMALLER_THEN ORIGINAL

I have recovered thunbird messages from inbox file. It is woking in good conditions, but this file have 5300 messages, but it is smaller (300 MB) then the original that as less messages (4700); this file has 513 MB.

Why this happens?

Thank you

Gavias

Default Re: thunderbir_UNIX_file_SMALLER_THEN ORIGINAL

Did I got it correctly that

Recovered is 5300 messages and 300MB,
original has 4700 messages and 513MB?

If the original was used for a long time and never compacted, the slack of parts of deleted messages may have accumulated, accounting for the difference. These are parts of messages too small to be properly recovered. Depending on filtering settings (Strict/Normal/Loose) you may get more or fewer of these message parts.
