I ran the ZAR 8.3 version latest download web purchase program in a 2002XP SP1 Intel-2GHz PC with 512MB ram, USB1.1 connection to recover a Western Digital MyBook 500GB drive. The lost data is about 131GB in size checked by other data recovery software. However, after almost 30 hours of quick/full scan, the program abended with Error:
Access Violation at 0X00406F52 (tried to write to 0X0353pFEC), program terminated. I then upgrade the PC to 2002XP SP2. Set read cache memory from 130MB to 33MB, but same result in second trial. Another 30 hours is lost. I did a third trial with connection port upgrade to USB2.0. Same failure is hit after 29.5 hours. I spent almost a week, day and night for the trials but no way to recover the files. By trying other data recovery program, other program shows 130.96GB and 212,928 files are there in the harddisk. They are viewable. But the disk data lost makes all the files are hiddened in the disk directory. Please help. Barry |

Could you please provide last 100 lines of the log file,
C:\Program Files\ZAR\logfile.txt so I can investigate what that is.
