Unhappy vulome map???

hello!

I went to a trip with my wife, first after we got married and after we got back i wasn't unable to use the camera because it kept saying format card, i have no clue why this happened. I was told to use your software, never used it before and all i see is red little squares that i think it means bad sectors, how bad is this??

pls help.

Thanks Alex for your help.

Unhappy Re: vulome map???

ok it took 5 hrs and all i see is bad sectors, my camera battery is dead and it said that i do not have too much virtual memory that some applications might not work. I'll recharge the battery and will put my pc on stand by. what does it mean having just bad sectores?? and also it says located 0 files in 0 directories.

I used the regular mode not the simple volume mode.

what's next to do? pls help

"All reds" means the card is not readable. You need to use a card reader device, rather than connect via the camera.

This may or may not rectify possible loose connection problem, or possible issues introduced by the camera's firmware (which may choke encountering some limited damage, and then deny access completely). Card readers tend to produce more stable results.

If this does not help (still "all reds/bads" indication), the card is physically damaged and beyond the software repair.

If the card reader helps, the run would take about an hour. You can try both modes and pick the best results then. Actually, at a hour or two per run there is no reason not to try both.
