I've successfully restored photos and music from a Western Digital hard drive - damaged due to power outage. However, all .txt, .xls and .doc files are corrupted when opened - they look OK in explorer. Are they permanently damaged or do you have any ideas how I could recover them? Many thanks.

Would be nice if you specify what the filesystem type was on it.
Probably the best option is that you find the log file, C:\Program Files\ZAR\logfile.txt, ZIP it and email to me at development@z-a-recovery.com. This file contains all the data I need to review how it did the recovery.

Many thanks. I've sent you the log file. The file system is NTFS. I look forward to your response.

Oh...I should add that it was NTFS but was showing as RAW after the power outage problem and when recovering data. Thanks.

I've checked the log and the drive appears damaged beyond our capabilities to repair. Hence, I've just refunded your order.
Sorry it did not work out.
