After browsing a couple of pages in the forum, and seeing people keep complaining about the time it takes to recover files, I guess I am not surprised to see that after about 2 hours, my recovery process is still under way. I am just trying to recover 6 or 7 JPG files from my Sony 1GB Memory Stick Pro. There are no red dots in the Volume Map. And now the program is displaying:
Recovery run progress information Elapsed time: 1h 43m 39s Filesystem type: RAW Post-processing Located 1531 files in 1 directories And the progress bar is about 1/4 green. Oh God. I already set the timeout to 200 ms, retry attempts to 0, and avoid repreated retries. I increased skip factor to 1024. I don't know what this RAW filesystem is. Anyway, this is taking a LONG LONG time. ![]() (I am using this ZAR 8.4 free software.) |

I am finally done after more than 6 LONG hours. Yes, it seems that the program can recover all the files.

If postprocessing is slow, there are a couple things you can do,
1. in the runtime control panel, increase read cache to maximum; 2. abort the run, in "Advanced Configuration" under "Image recovery" change "End of file detection" to "Marker analysis" and restart. This should be much faster, but can produce files of excessive size.
