Options common to all filsystems

In certain cases, ZAR can recover a filesystem without a need
to perform a full scan of the volume. This may provide significant (up
to ten times) speed boost compared to the traditional "read all"
analysis. Quick scan mode activates automatically if certain
conditions are met. It works with NTFS volumes only. In case
ZAR detects that the data gathered during the quick scan
is not enough for a filesystem reconstruction, it will revert to the
full scan automatically.
Quick scan mode is inhibited if any of the following conditions
are met
- RAID or Digital Image recovery run is performed
- The filesystem type override is in effect and the specified
filesystem type is other than NTFS
Default setting is Automatic. When set to Disabled,
quick scan mode will not activate regardless of the volume
condition.
You should disable quick scan mode if you are recovering FAT
volume which was accidentally formatted to NTFS. |

n’utilisez-la qu’avec un grand nombre d’éliminations, par exemple si
vous avez éliminé tout le répertoire de base par méprise. |

C’est un paramètre technique qui doit être mis à 80%. Ne modifiez-le
sans l’exigence explicite du personnel subalterne. |

Cette option lancée, les fichiers vides (avec la taille de 0 byte) et les
répertoires vides (ceux qui ne contiennent aucuns fichiers ou
sous-répertoires) seront fltrés des résultats. |

Cette option permet de filtrer quelques fichiers insignifiants ou inutiles.
La liste complète des fichiers à filtrer est citée ci-dessous:
- ~*.tmp les fichiers – les fichiers différents temporaires.
- ~$*.doc – les fichiers temporaires par Microsoft Word
- ~wrl*.tmp - les fichiers temporaires par Microsoft Word
- Les fichiers de System Volume Information
- $MFT, $Boot, $Volume, $Quota et d’autres fichiers de système NTFS.

Sounds good, but it didn't identify my camera as a drive.
I use an Olympus C740UZ with an XD picture card, and Windows XP.
Windows reads the camera as removeable disk E: but ZA failed to pick it up.
I tried all the different processes suggested by ZA help, without success.
Shame, because all the other reviews suggest it's a nice little bit of software.
Try it anyway, you've got nothing to lose.
