File copying

This section displays number and size of the selected files. You
may want to check the total file size with respect to the free space
available on your target drive. It is not unusual to get a slightly
larger amount of data than expected. This effect arises when multiple
file versions (previously erased files) or duplicate files (e.g. when
the file was moved, it may be recovered in both old and new locations)
are being restored. |

"Overwrite" setting is not recommended for general use because of the
following side effect: if there are multiple files with the same name in the
same folder (typically several file versions - the latest one plus several
previously erased versions), an arbitrary one will be picked, possibly
overwriting the good file (with an older version in the above example). |

The progress bar displays a percentage of total files size processed. File
information displays number of files copied and the name of the file under
processing. |

deleted but left on the target. |

Once file copying is finished, the window may appear indicating that
the disk cache is being flushed. This may take considerable amount of
time if "Write cache" setting in options is
configured for large write cache and/or you are recovering to a slow
target (e.g. over the 10 Mbps network). If you abort the processing by
quitting ZAR, the write cache will be discarded rather than
written to the disk. Some files may remain partially copied, and some will
be missing. Thus, it is not recommended that you terminate copy
process by quitting the program. |
